Admission Process
We accept children as young as 2 years, 9 months in our Primary programs. Children must demonstrate a basic level of independence and verbal skills that will allow them to function in a classroom that provides “freedom within limits.” Our goal is to allow your child to explore the materials in the classroom while respecting self, others, and the environment.
Is my child ready? Your child should be able to use the toilet and dress themselves, with minimal help from adults. (Occasional accidents are OK). S/he should be able to communicate his/her needs and follow directions from adults.
Prospective parents are encouraged to visit our school and observe a classroom during a typical school day. This is the best way to know if KMS will be a good fit for your child. Please call 453-6055 to schedule a visit.

Scholarship Program
Our need-based Scholarship Program is open to any KMS student, and offers partial tuition assistance only.
To apply, you must complete a tuition assistance application, available at http://www.psas.org/onlineapp.aspx and submit it to the Private School Aid Service by June 1, 2013. Private School (PSAS) conducts a confidential, objective financial analysis upon which the award will be based. For more information on PSAS, visit www.psas.org.

Parent Participation Program
Our school is for parents too! We encourage families to be actively involved in the school, which is an important part of the school’s success. The services and expertise that parents provide allow teachers and staff to focus on children, while also controlling the rising cost of education. What parents get in return is invaluable—a way to be directly involved in their child’s school, as well as a chance to meet other KMS parents.
Each parent is asked to contribute 20 hours of volunteer time as part of their enrollment commitment. Opportunities for volunteer activity include listening to emerging readers, driving on field trips, helping with publicity, assisting with our annual auction, cleaning up the grounds each spring and fall, and many other essential tasks.
Many of our parents enrich the classrooms with special presentations on their own cultural and religious traditions, occupations and/or special interest.
Parents are also encouraged to participate in the KMS community by attending Parent Workshops and other school events.
Parent-Teacher conferences are held in the Fall and Spring.
Annual events include our Annual Auction, Spring Pot-Luck Dinner, Mothers’ Day Tea, Fathers’ Day Breakfast, and a Teddy Bear Picnic on the last day of school, as well as two concerts held at the end of each term.
