Dear Parents and Families,
The first week of the summer program has been so much fun! We spent a great deal of time outside, cooling off with the sprinkler and slip-and-slide, learning to play badminton and croquet, and relaxing in a tent! We have also tie dyed cloth napkins for our lunches and made a salad with lettuce from our very own garden.

Next week will be spent celebrating Independence Day. In addition, we are having special guests Maureen Vashon and David Deas give a music presentation on Wednesday, July 2nd.
Since there is no school next Friday (July 4th), we will begin our “Fun Fridays” the following week. On Friday July 11th, we would like all of the children to bring their bikes to school (weather permitting). We must ask that all children have their own helmet in order to ride. We will be blocking off space in the parking lot for them to bike.
The following Fun Friday will be spent with Adele Carey, former elementary teacher and head of school at KMS. The children will be learning both about music and Ireland from her.
Below is a list of materials we are trying to collect. If you have any of them to donate, we will gladly take them off your hands for projects we would like to do throughout the summer.
We are looking forward to the coming weeks of the summer program and know they will be a blast! We hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather as much as we are.
-Katie and Tabitha
